ANNOUNCING THE PORTFOLIO REVIEW FAVOURITESLike their predecessors, this year's portfolio reviews also met with broad appeal on the young photography scene. Out of the total of 85 young photographers, ten favourites have been selected:
1. Birte Kaufmann 2. Stephanie Steinkopf 3. Kike Aspano
The three top favourites will be presented by the Fotofestival from 12 October in a dedicated show
at Einraumhaus C/O Mannheim, with extracts
from their series of works. You are cordially invited to the show's opening, where the photographers
will be in attendance, on 12 October at 3 p.m. Location: Dammstraße 1, Alter Messplatz, 68169 Mannheim
The other seven favourites are: Johannes Heinke, Stefan Koch, Beba F. Lindhorst, Mako Mizobuchi,
Ina Schoenenburg, Joscha Steffens and Anne-Sophie Stolz. We will be showing a selection of their
works online on the Fotofestival's website shortly.
FESTIVAL NEWSPAPER OUT NOWThe 5th edition of the Fotofestival presents a pilot project: the Festival newspaper, now available free of charge at the eight exhibition venues. In addition to reports on the Festival organization, plus up- to-date information and photo galleries, students' texts on the history of photography and on current photo-theory discourses can be found in the newspaper. The budding scientists from the fields of art history, art education and photography have helped to design the newspaper by contributing images as well as texts. We hope you enjoy reading it!FURTHER FESTIVAL PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTSBesides the opening of the favourites show, more events are on the agenda this coming weekend, 11-13 October, to which you're cordially invited:
