THE 5TH FOTOFESTIVAL CROSSES MEDIA BORDERS

PRESENTATION OF SELECTED DIALOGUE ARTISTS

We are delighted that, in addition to the photographers we've already introduced, some of the dialogue artists will be in attendance at the opening of the 5th Fotofestival Mannheim_Ludwigshafen_Heidelberg on 13 September 2013 at 7 p.m. at Wilhelm-Hack-Museum.

Veronika Veit

Spectators will be confronted with a space-filling sculpture by Veronica Veit right in the middle of the show No Place like Home / Zuhause. In this sculpture the installation artist tackles, in a three- dimensional manner, the topic of Home. The work, reminiscent of a barricade of wagons, comprising cupboards, cupboard doors, drawers and objects, bears the title Zufall und Gelegenheit - (Chance and Opportunity) - and accentuates, in its unique way, essential aspects of the private place of retreat.

Agnes Lisa Wegner

Agnes Lisa Wegner is the founder of the project GOODBYE G.I. She conducted research for Magnum photographer Alessandra Sanguinetti, chose the models and accompanied the photographer during the photo shoots. Subsequently she conducted interviews with some of the portrayed persons: these can be heard at the show Insight Out / Konversion in the form Stadtgalerie Mannheim in the form of a sound installation. Agnes Lisa Wegner studied American Culture and Literature at the John F. Kennedy Institute of the Free University Berlin and at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Jens Wienand

Jens Wienand, DJ LastJensToDance, developed the matching musical complement to the images in the projection for the show Community at Kunstverein Ludwigshafen. He will be spinning the discs on the opening evening and so taking part in the musical make-up of the After-Show Party, which will take place on 13 September 2013 from 9.30 p.m. at Kunstverein Ludwigshafen. Jens Wienand is a DJ, musician, author, label maker, pop-poet, does improvisation theatre and works as a presenter.

In addition, alongside the works of the Magnum photographers, further artistic positions will be on show at the Heidelberger Kunstverein: the contributions by Francis Alÿs, Alighiero Boetti, Elfe Brandenburger, Aqeela Rezaie, Saba Sahar and Sandra Schäfer.

The Festival team is looking forward to a varied and inspiring opening weekend with you and the artists in attendance.
